THIS IS UNLIKE ANY OTHER REALITY SHOW I'VE EVER SEEN! These contestants are isolated in jail cell sized boxes given a minimal amount of food to eat and unable to sleep. Sleep deprivation will drive anyone to the brink of insanity. One guest a recovering alcoholic has a melt down quits before the first challenge even begins, but when it does, the foot bed-of-nails has everyone else in agony. Twisted tests and treatments push contestants to their physical and psychological limit.
"Solitary" is a psychological experiment without votes or finish lines. The only way to lose is to quit, and the only way to win is to endure, it's a test of the mind.
The only company the player have is the voice of their omniscient “friend” Val, who is an ally, confidant, taskmaster . . . and possibly their worst nightmare. I find this show fascinating and you can expect to hear more from me about this madness. It's on Fox Reality!

Tim McVeigh, The Oklahoma Bomber

Did he do it? Was he put to death for his anti-government views? WHY did he do it?
Timothy McVeigh had never done anything wrong in his life. He was an excellent student, a decorated soldier in the US Army and won the Combat Infantry Badge and Bronze Star in the Gulf War.
However, he was convicted of 11 counts, including conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction, use of a weapon of mass destruction, and 8 counts of first degree murder. He was said to have driven a truck in to a parking garage of a federal building, using a timing device to ignite a homemade bomb, killing 168 people! It was the largest act of terrorism EVER in the US until 9/11!
Timothy McVeigh was put to death at age 33 by lethal injection in the state of Indiana June 11, 2001.
McVeigh claimed that the bombing was in retaliation to the Siege of Waco, Texas. I believe whatever part McVeigh had in the Oklahoma City bombing, including his death, was to bring attention to what the government did in Waco.
Bombing experts and analysts say that to have caused that amount of damage to the building, there would have had to be bombs at the base of every support column. The blast could not have come from the truck bomb alone. It is not even possible that it happened the way they initially claimed.
Only one conspirator to the bombing was convicted and he claims that high ranking government officials are protecting the other conspirators. One theory of bombing analysts is that the government was behind the bombing and ordered it in order to justify their persecution of right-wing organizations, like the ones who were slaughtered at Waco!
Tim McVeigh has been silenced forever but I think we should ask ourselves..........WHY?

I believe that assisted suicide of the terminally ill is not murder. A lot of people think that it is selfish and wrong to commit suicide because of the effect that it has on family and friends but I think that it is selfish and wrong for family and friends not to allow it if that is what they want.
People suffer terribly to the point where pain killers no longer help. We put our animals down that we so love and care for when they suffer and not to would be inhumane. Why would we allow or mother, father, brothers and sisters to suffer so badly when we wouldn't allow our own pets to endure so much pain?

Dr. Death to be Released! Jack Kervorkian will be released Friday after eight years in prison for his assistance in the death of a terminally ill man in Michigan. He is 79 years old and was sentenced to 10-25 years.He claims to have helped more than 130 people die from 1990-1998. As a condition of his parole he will not be allowed to counsel anyone in their suicides or to attend any suicides or euthanasia's. He is out of the business of helping people die.However, he can still be an advocate of assisted death and his release comes at an oppertune time. California will vote on the Compassionate ChoicesAct, which would allow doctors to prescribe lethal medication to patients with less than 3 months to live. They are strongly opposed by the right-to-life movement and the Roman Catholic Church. Oregon is the only state to have passed such a law so far.We have not heard the last of Dr. Kervorkian. Is assisted suicide murder? Or is it an act of compassion?

A recent study in Britain has found that Hopping on one leg 50 times a day can help women beat osteoporosis. Tests over a six-month period showed a stronger hip and heel in the leg used for hopping, but not the other of course. The exercise also helped with balance and muscle use — two factors which can help prevent falls in old age. Are your bones worth 50 one legged hops a day?

Charles Manson "I am what you made me"

Charles Manson:"I am what you made me."That's what Manson said in his murder trial for the shooting, stabbing, bayonet slayings of 7 people in 1962. It was never proven that Manson was even present at the murders but it was well known that he directed a handful of people in his cult/"family" to kill rich, well known white people and leave messages written on the walls in the victims blood. Manson was convicted of both conspiracy to commit the murders and the murders themselves and was originally sentenced to death until California abolished the death penalty in 1972, reducing the sentence to life imprisonment. Manson has come up for parole 11 times, including May 23rd of this month, but has been repeatedly denied parole for prison crimes such as assault, drug trafficking and arson. Manson accused society of making him what he is today because with an alcoholic, drug addicted prostitute for a mother he was repeatedly abandoned in his youth and taken to live in boys homes when there was no place for him in the local foster care program. When Manson was 8 he was held in a boys home where when the boys there got in trouble they were put on the rack and beaten for their misdeeds each day. If this form of punishment did not seem to have the desired affect, in a few cases boys were taken from their beds in the middle of the night to be beaten in a nearby cornfield. Manson was treated at the local hospital twice during his stay there, for broken ribs and a broken arm. He lived in several boys homes and escaping them became a habit. At twelve he was incarcerated with adult criminals, for stealing a car in one of his escapes. In prison he was raped and beaten by other inmates but eventually was released upon turning 18. He was illiterate, never having been educated or taught a skill from which he could be made employable. He relied on what he knew, stealing, in order to survive. At the age of 32 he had spent more than half his life in institutions and the prison system. On his release date in March of "67, he plead with the parole board NOT to release him saying that prison was the only home he knew. He was released and began the cult known as the "Manson family" shortly after. In the meantime he met a former Beatle, who payed for Manson to be recorded and Manson actually has his own album! Was Manson actually a murderer? Was he, in fact, the product of a corrupt system? Maybe there is some justice in Manson NOT being put to death although, it is unlikely that he will ever be released from prison. When I think of the death penalty I will always remember the accusation that he made in his trial that he is what WE made him.

Capital Punishment: For or Against?

For more than half my life I have wrestled with the subject of capital punishment. I have looked at and studied all different angles of the pros and cons.

Men are mortal and prone to error. Are we really equipped to decide who should live or die?

Is it morally ethical to make it legal to kill under any circumstances?

What if we put innocent people to death while serial killers and mass murderers are convicted in states that do not have capital punishment?

If we punish death with death, what are we really teaching anyone, certainly not that it is wrong to kill?

Is it more humane to put a person to death than to let them serve a life sentence? Is there any justice in our court systems? These are all things I would like to discuss with you.

What is your opinion? I would very much like to hear other views on this subject.

In the meantime, I will post different stories and criminal histories of people who have caught my attention over the years and have so far influenced my views of capital punishment.
